Latest IBPS PO 2026 Notification
IBPS released the official CRP PO/MT-XVI notification on 1 July 2026. Online registration was open from 1 July to 26 July 2026. The Preliminary Examination was conducted on 22 and 23 August 2026, and the Main Examination is scheduled for 4 October 2026.
IBPS has also issued corrigenda and updated vacancy information during July and August 2026. Candidates should refer to the latest update on the official IBPS PO/MT-XVI page for the applicable vacancy details.

Mains Pattern Revised
The 2026 Mains structure has 170 objective questions for 200 marks, followed by a 25-mark descriptive paper.
Descriptive Paper
The descriptive component is now based on Essay and Comprehension and carries 25 marks.
Awareness Section Expanded
The Mains awareness section covers General, Economy, Banking, Digital and Financial Awareness, including RBI-related updates.
Prelims Pattern
Prelims remains a 100-question, 100-mark test with three separately timed sections of 20 minutes each.
Negative Marking
A penalty of 0.25 marks applies for each wrong answer in objective tests. Unattempted questions do not attract a penalty.

The IBPS PO Preliminary Examination consists of three separately timed sections. Each section has a duration of 20 minutes. Candidates must qualify in the sectional and overall cut-offs prescribed by IBPS.

The 2026 Mains examination has a revised objective structure with 170 objective questions carrying 200 marks, followed by a 25-mark descriptive paper. Objective tests have a 0.25-mark penalty for each wrong answer.
